“Dead Money” DLC Trailer

I know there are some gamers out there who were pretty disappointed in Fallout New Vegas. With all the glitches right from Day 1 and the slow process to patch them. Personally I didn’t run into any glitches and have enjoyed my time playing the game. But I do have to say still love Fallout 3 a lot more.

Anyways, today a trailer for the upcoming DLC “Dead Money”  for Fallout New Vegas was released.

Check it…

“Dead Money” is set to drop on December 21st

First New Vegas DLC Announced

Fallout New Vegas will drop it’s first DLC pack “Dead Money” on December 21st exclusively on Xbox 360. Word came from Bethesda Blog today…

November 17, 2010 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today announced thatDead Money, the first downloadable content for Fallout®: New Vegas™, will be available exclusively on Xbox LIVE® for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft beginning December 21, 2010.

“We’re pleased to give fans a chance to expand their experience in Fallout: New Vegas this December with Dead Money,” said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks. “The release of Dead Money illustrates our commitment to creating entertaining add-on content for players to enjoy in already massive games like Fallout: New Vegas.”

As the victim of a raw deal you must work alongside three other captured wastelanders to recover the legendary treasure of the Sierra Madre Casino. In Dead Money, your life hangs in the balance as you face new terrain, foes, and choices. It is up to you how you play your cards in the quest to survive

While I’ve somewhat neglected New Vegas since the release of Black Ops, I do plan to partake in this DLC. I mean come on, if it has the title “Fallout” attached to it I’ll probably buy it.

Tunes of the Wastelands

So I must say that I am really enjoying the music selection in Fallout New Vegas. Sure its old but it  just feels right to be running through the wasteland with Dean Martin blasting on your Pip Boy.

But as for the DJs who bring you those tunes, thats a different story. Fallout 3 had GNR’s Three Dog howling in between songs. Fallout New Vegas introduced us to Mr. New Vegas, an old fellow who someone politely put “sounds like he went through drug rehab”.

Both equally annoy the crap out of me a some points but I love having them in the game. So peeps, who do you prefer listening to?

For a list of songs from Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas check out the Fallout Wiki.

First Thoughts: Fallout New Vegas

When I first popped the disk into my 360 and sat back in my chair and watched the opening cinematic I knew this game was going to blow me away. I got a warm fuzzy feeling when my very own Pip Boy was handed to me and I set out into this new wasteland.

Now I’ve only just barely scratched the surface of the many hours I plan to put into this game but I already love it. It has the same feel that I loved from Fallout 3. One big addition to this game is Hardcore mode. A little added stress to your journey but it has a 100g achievement/trophy in it for you if you survive the whole thing on Hardcore.

The major bullet points that make up Hardcore mode are that stimpacks will work over time instead of right away. Things like sleep and food deprivation will harm you along with dehydration.  You also must be choosey about your ammo since that will now carry a weight that will slow you down. So if you are looking for the extra gamerscore I recommend picking up the game guide to help you pick the best skills and customizations to get you through the wasteland.

A few players are coming across bugs in the game (besides the bloatflys of course). Take a chill pill if you do. This game is beyond huge. There are bound to be a few issues so sit tight and I’m sure it will get fixed. But for now check out this super creepy bug one player encountered right at the start.
