Here we are again…

21 Dec

With the announcement of the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops DLC there of course have been cries of joy and cries of hate.  The usual when it comes to the COD community. No one is ever satisfied.

Let’s start with the price. 1200 Microsoft Points or about $15. Sound familiar? That’s how much each MW2 map packs set you back on release. Those packs included 3 new maps and 2 re-done COD4 maps. If you remember my previous rants, I was just as pissed as everyone else about the price of those. 1200 points for a few new maps and some recycled ones. But of course I still bought them.

The difference with “First Strike” is that ALL the maps are ALL new. Now for those of you who have read reports online that these maps included in the map pack are canceled maps from the shipped game why does that matter to you? (if it’s true) They are still new maps that just didn’t make the cut.

E3 announcement

Now for you PS3 and PC gamers out there, I know it sucks that you have to wait an extra month to get these maps. But it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that the pack is Xbox 360 exclusive for 30 days. The announcement was made back at E3 that 360 users would get first crack at the Black Ops DLC. It’s just the way it the money flowed.

Microsoft obviously threw out some big money for this deal and 360 users (who incidentally pay for their online experience) get a little something out of it. I’m not trying to start a console war (because I hate them) but there are perks to paying for Xbox LIVE and this is one of those times.

Anyways get pumped for this map pack. I know I am!

Yes some are recycled maps that didn’t make the cut previously because they weren’t finished. not because they weren’t good. The game had to be shipped, they weren’t good enough at the time of shipment. They are now.
