Last night Treyarch’s community manager Josh Olin did another round of #AskJD on Twitter. Basically he took questions from the fans on Twitter and answered a select few. Things got pretty interesting when the question of quickscoping came up.
Now for those who think that quickscoping takes great skill you are sadly mistaken. Quickscoping has flourished only because of the insane auto-aim of MW2. Had MW2 not sucked quickscoping would not be the problem that it is. I would not find myself blowing the head off a guy in WAW who thinks he can quickscope with the PTRS.
For those who think that hardscopers are “noObs” are lack skill think about a real sniper. Think about how much real skill and patience you must had to be a marksman. Snipers were not meant to used in close range. Could you imagine running around with a sniper in real war and putting the scope halfway up and shooting? The enemy would laugh at you and then blow your face off.
Now before you flip out and say “it’s only a video game” and “it’s not supposed to be real” well quickscoping just goes beyond not real and goes right to ridiculously impossible. Players who scream for realism in this game but still want quickscoping should maybe put down the controller for a bit and do a little military research.
